On Friday, October 7th, 2022, we hosted over 500 high school graduates from 11 schools across Vojvodina in our city. Students from Sombor, Apatin, Kula, Bačka Topola, Senta, Ada, Bečej, and Kikinda had the opportunity to get to know Subotica as a city for studying and also learned about career opportunities in some of the local IT companies. Guests visited the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, as well as the College of Applied Sciences in Subotica. After visiting the higher education institutions, the graduates also visited some of the well-known IT companies in Subotica where they could learn firsthand about how a workday of Subotica IT experts looks like. The graduates had the opportunity to meet with IT professionals from companies such as Auxality, ConcordSoft Solutions, ErdSoft, Logiscool, ICBTech, Infora Research Group, Infostud Grupa, InfostudHub, IP Energy Software, and Studio Present. At this year's "Subotica Open IT" event, over 500 graduates from 6 technical high schools, 4 grammar schools, and 1 economic high school participated.
The graduates learned firsthand about the study programs offered and what entrance exams to expect if they decide to study at Subotica's higher education institutions. They also heard from students about what student life is like in Subotica and what makes it a good place to study. After presenting the college and high school, graduates had the opportunity to see one of the two Subotica student dormitories and visit the student cafeteria. After visiting the higher education institutions, the guests went on a tour of several IT companies, where each company presented itself in its own way. During this opportunity, the guests learned more about the companies, their business, what kinds of IT professions exist with them, and also learned something new about the business world.
This was the second "Subotica Open IT" event organized by IT Subotica 2030, and we are confident that many of the graduates we hosted will become our fellow citizens this fall.
