In the premises of the "Digital Hive" business complex, the "IT Subotica 2030" organization awarded valedictorian students from all Subotica's high schools. A cocktail party was held in their honour, and each of the 12 students received a voucher for 30,000 dinars and a gift package from the organization.
Among the awarded students are Aron Papajčik and Vukota Markišić, students of the "Ivan Sarić" Technical School, Eržebet Tot and Ana Vojnić Tunić, students of the Secondary Medical School, Krištof Nemet and Miloš Pajić, students of the "Svetozar Marković" High school, Anđela Lebović and Fani Višnjei, students of the "Lazar Nešić" School of Chemical Technology, Nikola Koltin, student of the "Bosa Milićević" School of Economics, Staša Stantić, student of the Polytechnic School, Sabolč Kozma, student of the High school for talented students "Deže Kostolanji" and Danijela Zvekić, student of the Music High School.
"Students of the Year" is a new project of the "IT Subotica 2023" organization. This project aims to make the best students from all high schools in Subotica more visible.
"Our wish was that in these times when some other values somehow prevailed, to encourage the students and to show them that their hard work and effort pays off. That we recognize their talent and that they have something to show." Likewise, we want to draw their attention to our city and, if they decide not to study here, encourage them to return after their studies. To show them that the perspective in this city exists and that this city will be there for them", says Filip Budanović, project manager of the "IT Subotica 2030" organization.
The event brought together all 12 valedictorian students from the Subotica high schools. As well as their parents, friends, teachers, and school principals, who pointed out that they are proud of their students by expressing that someone else recognizes and values their successes.
"This is extremely important. It is necessary for the community to appreciate one's effort and work and to invest, first in young potential, because without young potential there is no future", says Dušan Pavlović, director of the "Svetozar Marković" High School.
"IT Subotica 2030" organization was created on the initiative of IT companies based in Subotica, as well as the educational institutions. They have gathered around the idea of making Subotica a recognizable regional IT centre with a lively business and congress IT scene.
In addition, the intention of the organization is to help in developing social and environmental activities that will make Subotica an ideal place for study, work, and life. They've already carried out several successfull projects, such as planting trees along the Szeged and Belgrade roads in collaboration with association "Green Oasis Subotica", and the painting of more than twenty cable cabinets in the city centre in cooperation with Subotica artists.
This is the third project in a row, and the idea is to realize it every year and thus make it a beautiful tradition.
"This year 12 students from all Subotica's High Scholls were awarded. Plan for the next few years is to expand the number of awardees, so that in addition to the students of the generation, awards will go to students who have distinguished themselves with some other successes. Both in competitions and on projects they've worked on as part of their school activities", says Filip Budanović.
In the next few weeks, the "IT Subotica 2030" organization will present all the awarded students individually, their achievements, plans and wishes. As well as how they see themselves and Subotica in 2030.
